CADDE ILETISIM shopfront sign during installation, two people fixing the panel to the canopy — CADDE İLETİŞİM, Pınarbaşı / İzmir
01 / 02

Summary

CADDE İLETİŞİM is a communications store in Pinarbasi, Bornova, Izmir. İZVELA produced the facade sign by digital print and carried out the storefront glass application.

Project detail

The work

A sign was fitted to the shopfront and the windows were given graphics that describe the services. Under the brand name the sign lists the work in a single line, covering new and second hand phones, technical service and accessories.

The facade

The sign sits on the entrance canopy and was set at a size that reads from the street. The brand name is the largest line, with the service list below it separated by a thin rule.

The windows

The glass carries more than the brand name. Screen replacement, battery replacement and bill payment were applied with their icons, so the window still explains the business when the shop is closed.

Installation

The sign was installed on site and photographed while it went up. The first frame in the gallery shows the panel being fixed to the canopy.

Digital print and the facade sign

The facade sign was produced by print and the size was taken on site. For a store on a busy street a sign has to say more than the name of the business, it has to say from a distance what is sold inside. The type hierarchy was built around that reading distance.

The sign was produced at 5 × 1 metres.

The storefront glass application

Cut film was applied to the storefront glass. A storefront has to show the product and carry the brand at once, so the surface was not covered edge to edge. The brand and the contact details were kept at eye level.

Frequently asked questions about this work in Pinarbasi

How is a sign measured before production?

The measurement is taken on site and the survey is free of charge. The facade surface, the power situation and the mounting height are noted during the same visit, and the design is drawn afterwards.

Which type of sign suits a store on a busy street?

Where foot traffic is heavy the reading distance is short, so print or channel letters are often enough. The decision follows the facade surface, the need for illumination and the local council rules.

Is a permit needed for a facade sign?

In most districts a facade sign falls under the council sign and advertising permit. The application and the follow up are the responsibility of the business. Producing and installing the approved sign is our part.
