Neon Signage

For most needs we recommend LED-neon (neon-flex). It gives the look of glass neon but is unbreakable, safer, lower-consumption, and longer-lived. Unless there's a specific request, LED-neon is preferred.

Both are possible. Decorative material for indoors, and water- and weather-resistant material for outdoors. Just tell us where you'll use it up front.

There are single fixed-color and multi-color/RGB (color-changing by remote) options. We determine the closest tone to your brand color together.

In practice, no. Both describe the same product. Neon lettering usually brings to mind an indoor piece hung on a wall carrying a phrase or a brand name, while neon sign is the term used for facade work facing the street. The material and the production are the same. Flexible LED-neon tube is shaped and mounted onto a cut backing panel. Once you tell us where it will hang we pick the right thickness and brightness for it.

Flexible LED-neon draws noticeably less than the old glass neon its name recalls. A medium-sized piece on a cafe wall adds about as much load as a household bulb, which is why leaving it on through the evening is not a problem for most businesses. Glass neon was a different story, with high consumption and high voltage. LED-neon runs on low voltage, and that improves the safety side directly. Exact consumption depends on the length of the lettering, and we can work it out during the survey.

LED-neon outlives glass neon and, being impact-resistant, carries no risk of shattering. The most common fault is not the light itself but the power supply, which is a replaceable part. If a section goes dark it is usually that module being renewed rather than the whole sign. Indoors the life is longer still, because there is no humidity or temperature swing. Outdoors, sealing matters, so anything destined for outside is specified differently from the start.

The neon is applied to a clear acrylic backing and that backing is fixed to the wall. There are two methods. Screw fixing is the most secure and leaves a few small holes. Adhesive mounting leaves no marks but only works for lighter pieces on a smooth surface. In a rented space we suggest the second. Where the cable emerges is worth settling early too. If the socket position is known the cable can be hidden that way, otherwise a visible run may be left on the wall.

Because it creates a surface people photograph. When a customer takes a picture in front of the neon and shares it, the business name travels inside that post. That is real promotion nobody paid for. Two things make it work. The lettering has to be readable, and the wall behind it has to stay plain. Neon in front of a busy wall disappears in the photograph. That is why we discuss not only the neon but the wall it will live on.

We can, and it is one of the most requested jobs. Handwriting, a phrase or a business slogan is turned into a neon line. There is a technical limit here. Neon is bent as one continuous line, so very fine detail and curves that sit too close together cannot be produced. Send us your writing and we will adapt it for neon and show you a visual first. Most handwriting works with small adjustments, some needs simplifying.

Places that want atmosphere more than long-distance visibility. Barbers and hair salons, cafes, patisseries and boutique shops use neon lettering both on the facade and inside. Someone asking for barber signage is often describing neon without naming it, because that is the example in their head, and the same goes for salon signage. Here the neon is not only a sign, it becomes part of the character of the room, and a wall people photograph circulates on social media on its own.
